I slept so well last night. After a nice long shower and good night's rest, besides feeling famished, I'm doing good. If only I could spend the rest of the day relaxing in bed. I don't want to become a lazy bum though :)
I talked to the Biology dept today about going up to Friday Harbor to do research. Everything seems to be working out for that. The last thing I need to check is to make sure I'll have a job when I come home. It'd be so amazing to spend the quarter up there--I hope it works out :)
I'm working on cleaning my room... well rather more organizing than anything. So in the process of 'cleaning,' my room is an absolute disaster. If I just spread out all the papers I have to find places for I could play around in them like fall leaves. That sounds much more fun. :-P
Although I find Canadians to be a strange group of folks, some great things can be acquired across the border. While cleaning I came across a Kinder Suprise chocolate egg--although the chocolate may not be worth the purchase, the prize inside surely is. After a few minutes of deciphering the canadian directions I'm now the proud owner of a tiny gladiator man, controlling a charriot pulled by two black stallions. Time to have fun with my new toy :)
On my way to the ever exciting organic chemistry I saw a homeless man sleeping on the sidewalk outside of Espresso Roma--not an unusual sight--however, what was strange is that he was wearing purple rubber gloves (they were actually non-latex nitrile gloves, but I digress). For a moment I pondered the need for the gloves, but soon the light changed and I walked on. The purpose to this story is that I heard the familiar sound of an ambulance--that happened to stop in front of the sleeping purple glove man. The first thought to come to my mind was--hmm, I wonder if they're taking him to the UW ER and if they do, will he still be there when I start work at 11? Hmm... I wonder.
Nap before the night shift was a no-go again. Great.... :)
